But it does reflect a core American value: That great ideas and hard work will be rewarded with success. In the case of Uber, “hard work” means doing warfare with incumbent taxi drivers. At first, it was easy for the public to like Uber; everyone loves an underdog story. But with time, coverage of the company has become more critical — and in some cases, openly hostile.
