– Tributes were paid to Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes at sports fixtures around the world on Saturday. Hughes died aged 25 on Thursday, two days after being struck on the neck during a domestic match in Australia. England and Australia rugby union players wore black armbands and held a minute’s applause at Twickenham. England and Sri Lanka cricketers held a silence and Australian footballer Mile Jedinak took a bat onto the pitch before Crystal Palace faced Swansea.
